mistakes are messy. i have had them in the past and this is how they work:
they make hooks.
these hooks are made of iron and rust. they take them from old places where you have not lived for a long while and chisel them out, but you do not feel it, because you have moved out of that place, to another place, where there are other things that live on your mind. mistakes are very clever, you see.
they throw their hooks into your side and pull on you when you aren’t looking. it has thought they do this on purpose.
sometimes you are walking down the road and suddenly you fall for no apparent reason and crack your skull open and bleed all over the road and people run up to you and say things like: ohmygod ohmygod are you ok what happened and it appears that you do not know; this can be an example of how mistakes work. that is why it is very important to walk backward sometimes, because that way, you can look around and sometimes even learn to dodge.
of course, if you want to outsmart them you must move back into the places you have moved out of because that is where they live, but not a lot of people do that, but that’s ok, you get used to falling. all of us do.
